Things to do in West Wales - Glascoed Farm Holiday Cottages
There are plenty of things to do during your stay here at Glascoed, both in the immediate area and beyond.
On this page, we have included a selection of some of our own favourite places that we think you will enjoy, along with an estimate of the traveling time involved in getting there. We hope that our categories are helpful. Some places are quite local and others a little further afield in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.

TOWNS & VILLAGES
The friendly Plash Inn at Llanfallteg [5 min's] serves food and real ales.
For fresh local produce, quality shopping, contemporary arts and crafts, entertainment at the Queens Hall and plenty of places to eat, make sure to visit Narberth [20 min's] during your holiday.
Further west, you can visit Haverfordwest [30 min's], Pembrokeshire's county town where a Farmers' Market is held by the river every Friday. Then continue on west, perhaps stopping at Solva [45 min's], before reaching the UK's smallest City, St David's [1 hour] with its peaceful, Medieval Cathedral and Bishops' Palace.
South-west is historic Pembroke [40 min's] itself. Pembroke Castle was the birthplace of the Tudors and, with many re-enactments, displays and other events throughout the season, is worth a visit.

BEACHES
Tenby [35 min's] and Saundersfoot [30 min's] to the south, both offer safe, sandy beaches and most seaside activities. From Tenby, you can take a trip across the bay to Caldey Island where you can sample the products made in the Cistercian Monastery.

CASTLES, ANCIENT MONUMENTS AND OTHER SITES
Apart from nearby Narberth, there are plenty of castles and other historic sites within easy traveling distance of Glascoed Farm.
CADW, part of the Welsh Assembly, looks after many sites in the area, including castles at Llawhaden [25 min's], Wiston [35 min's], Cilgerran [1 hour], Laugharne [30 min's] and Llansteffan [35 min's]. Other CADW sites are the Bishops' Palaces at Lamphey [40 min's] and St David's [1 hour], while Haverfordwest Priory [35 min's] boasts the only surviving ecclesiastical medieval garden in Britain.
Picton Castle [25 min's], Carew Castle [30 min's], Carreg Cennen [45 min's], Pentre Ifan [45 min's] and Carreg Coetan [1 hour] burial chambers.
